Do you know Hoi Sin sauce?

It is, originally, a Chinese barbecue sauce. This Hoi Sin sauce has been revisited to suit Japanese tastes. The version offered here has the distinction of being natural, with no added additives, colourings, preservatives, or flavour enhancers.

The aromatic intensity is reminiscent of Mexican "mole poblano" with hints of cacao, but without the heat. You will find notes of dried fruits (dates, figs), accents of garlic and spices, sweetness, and meaty undertones.

We suggest two uses here, although this Hoi Sin sauce can also be used to accompany Peking duck, grilled pork and beef, grilled or steamed vegetables, root vegetables, pasta, and potatoes. It will also enhance sauces for game meats as well as braised meat dishes.
